Reminders:

• Rotary Interact Club  will be collecting non-perishable food items that are not expired and can openers. Items will be collected for Charleston Parks Conservancy to then be distributed to families in need within the community. There will be a drop off location in the mornings at each entrance and in the front office all day until November 21st. 
• As a reminder, water bottles should be able to seal securely and only contain plain water. We ask that flavor packets not be sent with scholars or used.  These create a sticky mess and disrupt the learning environment when spilled or when trying to put into water bottles.  If you have extra water bottles at home you would like to donate, please drop them off in the front office.  
• Donations needed of cases of small water bottles, uniform clothing in all sizes, navy outer layers like sweatshirts and sweaters, healthy snacks for the clinic, and feminine hygiene products.  Items may be dropped off in the front office.

Dear CCSMS Families and Scholars,

King Street is closed in front of the school due to the old Masons building partially collapsing. PLEASE do not drop off in the Food Lion Parking Lot, on the side of Grove, or other locations. Please follow all normal procedures for am car loop drop off  and pm pick up. This includes driving down Grove Street, entering at the back gate and driving up to the back of the middle school entrance to drop off and pick up. 

We love seeing so many scholars in costumes last Friday. They really were amazing! We had Steve Harvey from Family Feud, many historically or mythically inspired costumes, and several friendly Anime characters.

We are aware that some of our families may be experiencing financial difficulties, as some federal workers may not receive paychecks this week, and food-related programs in South Carolina, such as SNAP, are currently without funds due to the federal government shutdown. Here are some resources that may help you, a family member, or a neighbor:

Here are some tips for who it reach out to with questions, ideas, or concerns:

• If you have questions about PowerSchool, bus transportation, or other front office related matters, please email the front office and someone will respond to you.
• If you have general questions about middle school, Mrs. Carter is the Assistant Principal for middle school at CCSMS, and is always happy to help guide you and answer questions.
• If you have general questions about high school, Mr. Thompson is our Assistant Principal for high school and is ready to help support your scholar's success at CCSMS.
  
• If you have questions about your scholar's IEP or 504 plan, Mrs. Cannon can assist you.
• For attendance, records, address/email/phone number updates, admissions, and enrollment, please reach out to Mrs. Woolum. 
• Mrs. Frasier, our lead principal, can assist you if an issue is not resolved at the teacher or administrative team level. She handles all of our day to day operations.
• Mrs. Carmichael, our Executive Principal and CEO, can assist  you if you have an issue you need to discuss that impacts the overall functioning of the school.
• If you have an appeal of an administrator decision, there is a formal process to bring that issue to the board. You can reach the board members to start that process.

  • Donate backpacks, uniform clothing, tissues, classroom supplies, and gift cards when you can. They can be dropped off in the front office and will be put to use based on the priorities of the day.
