A Look at the Week Ahead
Prom is this Saturday. Monday, April 20, 2026 is the final day to purchase tickets. Scholars should go to their school email and Operoo to find the form to purchase tickets. We look forward to a Starlight Soiree!
Everyday Reminders:
- Scholars should arrive in proper uniform and dress code.
- Uniforms, navy sweatshirts, and navy sweaters are always welcome donations.
- Scholars should have a backpack and a tightly sealed water bottle with them each day.
- High school scholars and 8th graders should arrive at the first block with their Chromebooks fully charged.
- All phones and personal electronic devices are to be stored in their Yondr pouches.

Dear CCSMS Families and Scholars,
We loved seeing our families and scholars at STEM Expo last Thursday! Thank you for taking the time to come see all of the hard work of our scholars and teachers!
Many of our clubs and activities will be wrapping up in the coming weeks. Please look for emails from the advisors about plans for next year and any end of year events!
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4th to 8th this year. We will have a planning and logistics zoom call on Monday, April 27 at 6pm. Please join us if interested in helping. A sign up will also be sent this week for donations and volunteer opportunities.

Who to reach out to
Here are some tips for who it reach out to with questions, ideas, or concerns:
- If you have questions about PowerSchool, bus transportation, or other front office related matters, please email the front office and someone will respond to you.
- If you have general questions about middle school, Mrs. Carter is the Assistant Principal for middle school at CCSMS, and is always happy to help guide you and answer questions.
- If you have general questions about high school, Mr. Thompson is our Assistant Principal for high school and is ready to help support your scholar's success at CCSMS.
- If you have questions about your scholar's IEP or 504 plan, Mrs. Cannon can assist you.
- For attendance, records, address/email/phone number updates, admissions, and enrollment, please reach out to Mrs. Woolum.
- Mrs. Frasier, our lead principal, can assist you if an issue is not resolved at the teacher or administrative team level. She handles all of our day to day operations.
- Mrs. Carmichael, our Executive Principal and CEO, can assist you if you have an issue you need to discuss that impacts the overall functioning of the school.
- If you have an appeal of an administrator decision, there is a formal process to bring that issue to the board. You can reach the board members to start that process.

Internship, Volunteer & Apprenticeship Opportunities Available!
Is your scholar 15 years old or older and ready to start building their future?
Spring and summer are the perfect times to gain real-world experience through internships, volunteer work, employment or apprenticeship programs! These opportunities allow scholars to explore career interests, build resumes, develop professional skills, and make valuable connections before graduation.
Scholars interested in learning more should visit Mrs. Manigault in Room 229B during RIP Time (Tuesday–Friday, 11:00 AM–12:00 PM).

Charleston Regional Youth Apprenticeship Program
The CYRA program is a true “learn and earn” opportunity for rising high school juniors, seniors, and soon-to-graduate seniors. Please reach out to Mrs. Manigault for more information.
Community Partners Highlight - Kids On Point
Kids on Point currently has openings in their after school program. They provide transportation to the College of Charleston Campus Monday to Thursday with their program that runs until 6pm. More information can be found in these documents:
